QUELLEAMD Catalyst 11.4 mit neuen Optionen erhältlich
Treiber Der Chiphersteller AMD hat eine neue Version des Grafikkarten-Treibers Catalyst veröffentlicht. Die Ausgabe 11.4 bringt einige neue Optionen mit, benachrichtigt bei zukünftigen Updates und verbessert die Performance einiger Spiele. Hinzu kommen die üblichen Fehlerbehebungen.
Die Einstellungen der angeschlossenen Displays werden nun aufgabenbasiert vorgenommen, was den gesamten Vorgang etwas einfacher und übersichtlicher gestalten soll. Schließt man mehrere Bildschirme zusammen, nutzt man dabei AMDs Eyefinity-Technologie. Das Erstellen derartiger Eyefinity-Gruppen soll dank eines neuen Assistenten ebenfalls einfacher geworden sein. Zudem benachrichtigt jetzt auch der Catalyst den Anwender, wenn ein Update für den Treiber vorliegt. Auch Nvidia hatte ein solches Feature mit der letzten GeForce-Ausgabe eingeführt.
Der Catalyst 11.4 sorgt dafür, dass sich die Performance einiger aktueller Spiele verbessert. Nachfolgend findet man die Angaben aus den Release Notes des Treibers.
Performance-Verbesserungen im Catalyst 11.4:
Call of Duty Black Ops – gains of up to 15% with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering on single GPU configurations.
Battleforge – gains of up to 15% with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Batman Arkham Asylum – gains of up to 20% with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Aliens vs. Predator – gains of up to 8% with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Civilization 5 – gains of up to 15% on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Far Cry 2 – gains of up to 6% on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Just Cause 2 – gains of up to 9% on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Lost Planet 2 – gains of up to 10% on single and multiple GPU configurations.
Zu guter Letzt hat AMD auch wieder einige Fehlerbehebungen an der Treiber-Software vorgenommen. Der nachfolgende Changelog gilt für Windows 7. Für Vista und XP fällt er deutlich kleiner aus und kann in den Release Notes eingesehen werden.

WinDVD no longer displays corrupted BD playback when the monitor is rotated to portrait mode.
Crysis Warhead corruption is no longer randomly observed when launching the game.
Running the Heaven benchmark no longer displays graphics corruption during DirectX 11 tests.
Catalyst Control Center Avivo settings are now correctly displayed after connecting a secondary display.
The Catalyst Control Center screen no longer flickers while adjusting screen brightness.
